Training Requirements For Armed Security Guards in Minnesota

To become an armed guard, each candidate must undergo 12 hours of reassignment training. During this training, they learn the basics of first aid, CPR, incident response, surveillance, public response, patrol, and observation.

After the first 12 hours of training, each armed security guard goes through an additional 12 hours of weapons training. Each year, they undergo six more hours of training to ensure they remain skilled and safe to handle weapons.
